Joshua 6:2-5

Joshua and his army were about to attack the city Jericho. But God gave them very specific instructions for this battle. He said, "March around the city once every day for six days, and then march around the city seven times on the seventh day, with the priests blowing the trumpets. Have the people shout when they hear the trumpets. When they do, the walls will fall down." (paraphrase of Joshua 6)

What instructions has God given you? It's it fervent prayer on your knees, worship and praise to your favorite worship music, reading a certain passage of scripture, or all of the above? Whatever it is, make sure you listen to the still small voice to prepare your heart for the battle ahead. The battle is already won.

Psalm 90:17

If you are a Christian, you are in full-time Christian work, whether you are driving nails or preaching the gospel. The question must be, are you achieving the God-given calling for your life? God has called people into business to fulfill His purposes just as much as He has called people to be pastors or missionaries.

Significance comes from fulfilling the God-given purpose for which you were made. Ask Him to confirm this in your own life.

James4:14

Because the world is always moving, we need to be intentional about moving forward, so that we won't miss what God is wanting to do in our lives. Faith requires movement, action. Sometimes our action is waiting. But, there is always action.

Are you moving forward in your life? Are you making the moments count? There is so much that could be done on this earth for the good of God's kingdom. What has God called you to?

I Chronicles 15:12-13

Unfortunately, there is one simple thing that can keep us from the success others have experienced - we fail to follow directions. (This is especially true of those called to leadership - we are often strong-willed!) But, in order to gain success in any area of life, it requires following directions from someone more experienced than us. We need to get over our rebellion (yikes!) and do the thing or things advised.

Uzzah the Levite reached out to steady the Ark of the Covenant in transport, even though he was instructed not to touch it. Although he did what he thought was the right thing, because he did not follow directions, he dropped dead!

Can you think of any areas of your life where you've been given direction, but you need to follow it? Pray and ask God to give you the grace to follow those directions, and see your life begin to change for the better.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Have you ever not pursued something because it had to be perfect? There is a fine line between doing things with excellence and being a perfectionist. Perfectionists become argumentative with God. They refuse to step out in faith and obedience because they care too much about what others think if the results don't turn out perfectly.

When God places His anointing on you He uses whatever level of skill you have to fulfill His purposes in your life. This is why you need not fear moving into an unfamiliar area if He calls you there.

What is God waiting for you to do? It may be time to step out. He specializes in "cliff-catching."

Revelations 12:10-11

When you hear any voice in your ear ask "Who said that?" use the filter of the Holy Spirit to discern who is speaking to you. For instance, God would never say to you, "I do not love you. Or, your life is a failure, or you will never amount to anything." He would never communicate words of shame to you. You were made in the image of God.

Respond to the accuser with the audible Word of God, just as Jesus did when He was tempted. He told Satan the truth by the BOOK! James tells us to "resist the devil and he will flee from you." This requires action on your part to respond to the voice we hear.

Carolyn Osburn

Psalm 23:5

Doesn't God always want our "cups" to be filled to overflowing, with His love, goodness, and grace? There is reason for that. God desires that we know and experience His love every day, but there is also another reason: He desires that His love be felt by a hurting world in need. Mother Teresa said, "Intense love does not measure, it just gives."

Carolyn Osburn

Church services, times of worship and times of prayer are great times of refreshment where we get filled up with God's Spirit and love. But we can't stay there - Jesus tells us to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations. (Matt 28:19) If we sit in the pew for too long without any movement, we get picky and restless. The call that's inside of us grows dormant.

"LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure." -Ps 16:5

How full is your cup today? Are you ready to pour out the love that's within you to a hurting world in need?

Carolyn Osburn

Judges 7:7-8

When God is on your side, it is not what you have or how much of it that will determine your outcome. When Gideon awoke a giant sleeping army, they could have easily turned and killed him. It was God that fought the battle and He gave Gideon the victory. You only have to follow one step at a time to win this battle. Don’t stop, don’t turn back, keep putting one foot in front of the other one and you will come out this a winner.

Joshua 6:2-5

When we're about to enter a battle in life, it's a good idea to put the armor on. Even more so, it's important to pray and worship to lay the spiritual groundwork for what we're about to encounter. Whether it's an important board meeting, an audition, a Sunday morning service, or what we know might be a challenging meeting with a boss or client, it's vitally important we have times with God where we ask Him to cover us with His mercy and grace, and exalt Him for all that He is in our lives. This is only partially for Him - He knows we need continued reminders of His nature, and an infilling of His presence and love regularly.

Joshua 1:9

Have you ever had to stand up against the majority for a cause that wasn't popular? God brought the Israelites out of Egypt and promised He would lead them into a land of milk and honey. The process of moving out of Egypt was difficult. They could no longer do things the old way, for the old ways didn't work in the desert. God provided for them during this journey. But there came a point in which the people forgot what God had said. Their discomfort changed their belief about God.

Whenever God is slow to answer our prayers, what we believe about God is revealed. Do we change our plans and move in a different direction when pressure mounts? Or do we continue on the path God has directed for us?

Carolyn Osburn

Notice Joshua and Caleb's response to the situation. They had spied the land. They believed God. They challenged the crowd. They seemed to know that if the Lord was not pleased with them they would not enter into the Promised Land. Those who grumbled did not enter the Promised Land. Only Joshua and Caleb and a new generation saw the fulfillment of God's promise.

Has God called you to stand for a cause bigger than yourself? You will have opposition to His call; sometimes it even comes from those in your own camp. But if God has called you, then you can be sure He will make a way. He has already opened the way before you. But you must walk in faith, joined with Him to take the land. "...Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).

Carolyn Osburn

Psalm 116:12

Sharing truth with others without relationship leads to rejection. Discipline without relationship leads to anger. That night, I was talking to a friend about my experience. I asked her how she became a Christian, and how she would answer the question, "Why is Jesus the only way?" She said, "People just loved me. They didn't do anything else. They didn't try to change me. Only when I asked about something would they tell me. After a while, they invited me to church. But mostly, they just loved me, unconditionally. That's what people need when they're hurting and lost."

The conversion of others to believe in Christ is a fruit of our love, (John 13:35) not a goal. We can't make people our project. The Bible says the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. (John16:8) We're merely called to love and serve them, in whatever way we can. This is how people will be able to see God's light in us.

Carolyn Osburn

If our faith life is not validated through our behavior then one must question if we even have a genuine relationship with Christ. The apostle Paul didn't like what he saw in the believers on the island of Crete. They proclaimed Christ with their mouth, but their behavior looked no different than those who did not claim Christ.

Pray that your faith is "proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed" (1 Peter 1:7-8).

Carolyn Osburn

To all those who have eyes to see and ears to hear the Holy Spirit ...

I am entering a fast in regard to a satanic ceremony that will take place in OK City September 21 ...praying and binding as God leads because if they start it -it won t be the last of it ...but we fight this on our knees asking God to shut it down... they will place a satanic statue next to Ten Commandments at the state capitol ...I will be asking others nationally and internationally to take a stand in prayer to stop the enemy's public advancement of this travesty anywhere especially where US money ...states in God We Trust ...thank you for your prayers and faithfulness to our Lord and His work!!

Mathew 14:28-31

Scripture only mentions two people ever walking on water: Jesus and Peter. The other eleven disciples stayed safely in the boat. And even though Peter was willing to take the risk, doubt and fear caused him to start sinking, but when he cried Lord save me, Jesus immediately took hold of him.

The Lord still calls those who are willing to leave the safety of the boat and take a risk. But when you step out in faith, doubt and fear are going to attack your mind. Expect this. And if you start sinking, don’t panic, just cry out to the Lord Jesus. He is not going to let you drown. Peter walked on the water.

Carolyn Osburn

2 Corinthians 3:18

Many times, we can think that we are "born a certain way," and there is no changing that. While I believe this to be true in some cases, like the color of our hair, the color of our skin, our eyes, and how tall or short we are and some aspects of our personality, I believe that sometimes we allow our "born this way" mentality to get in the way of our salvation, and our healing. We allow the excuse, "that's just the way I am," get in the way of the fullness that God desires for us, and in the way of His love for us.

C.S. Lewis once said, "The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become - because He made us. He invented us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be... It is when I turn to Christ, when I give up myself to His personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own."

Carolyn Osburn

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland (Is. 43:19).

A NEW THING
Our past should only be viewed for what we can learn from it. We must move forward and avoid viewing the negative or the positive for more than what we can learn. Many have allowed their past to dictate their future. God is always about doing new things in our lives. He gives fresh revelation of His purposes in our lives. Do not live in the past. Do not hold onto bitterness that may hinder God from doing new and exciting things in your life. He turns our wastelands into streams of water to give life, not death.

How have you viewed your past? Has it hindered you in some areas of your life? Have you relied on past successes to dictate what you will do in the future? Put aside such thoughts and allow God to do a new thing in your life. Ask Him to help you see the new things He wants to do in and through you today.

Carolyn Osburn

Joshua 7:12

Sin makes our armor vulnerable to attack from satan, who then gains permission from God to attack us in the area where we have failed to uphold righteousness. If we break down in moral purity, satan comes in and establishes a stronghold. If we give place to bitterness and unforgiveness, we will break fellowship with God and others. If we become money-focused, we will fall into greed and deception. It is a vicious cycle.

Examine your armor today. Make sure you are not susceptible to attack. Begin from a solid spiritual foundation and your chances of success will be great.

Carolyn Osburn

James 1:2-5

God often allows pain to ignite destiny in our lives. Without motivation, many of us would never fulfill the purposes for which God created us. Often times a measured assault invades our life and creates a depth of pain that all we know to do is press into God with all our being.

At first, our motivation is to alleviate the pain. After a season of extreme emotional and sometimes physical pain, a second phase begins. This phase moves us to discover a new and deeper relationship with God. We begin to discover things about ourselves and about God that we never would have discovered without this motivation. Gradually, our heart changes our motivation from pain to loving obedience because there is a transition of the heart that takes place. No longer do we seek God for deliverance from the pain; we seek God because He is God. We seek His face and not His hand.

I Chron14:10

When we're about to make a big decision, or any decision for that matter, it's a good idea to ask God about them. The types of decisions we make in our 20s can chart the course for the rest of our lives. Therefore, it's wise to get a heavenly perspective!

One of the ways we can consult God about our decisions is through prayer. When David prayed to God, God answered him. But, we shouldn't assume that God will answer our prayers the same way he did the first time. When David consulted God again for a subsequent battle, God told him something different. "And once again David asked God what to do. 'Do not attack them straight on,' God replied. 'Instead, circle around behind and attack them near the poplar trees. When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the poplar trees, go out and attack! That will be the signal that God is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army.'" (1 Chronicles14:14&15) This is why it is so crucial that we continue to consult our Heavenly Father in every step we take.

Carolyn Osburn

2 Kings 4:26

Faith looks at situations through God's eyes, not the eyes of our limited understanding. This woman did not panic, for she knew something more than the current circumstance. Faith does not panic, but realizes that what looks like devastating circumstances may be God's plan to bring glory to Himself by demonstrating His power. When Jesus appeared on the water to the disciples in the middle of the night, they exclaimed, "It's a ghost!" (see Mt. 14:26) First appearances can bring great fear upon us even to the point of paralyzing us. Find the Lord in your circumstance today. Exercise your faith todayand trust Him for His outcome in the situation

Carolyn Osburn

Psalm 29:11

Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Where does that kind of peace come from? It comes from unwavering trust in our unfailing God, no matter the circumstances that surround us. God does not want to instill His children with fear. He wants to instill us with strength and peace, which comes from a reverence and trust in Him - all-powerful Almighty God.

Are you able to live in God's peace, no matter what circumstances are in your life today? Pray today that God would make you strong and give you peace, as this scripture relates, no matter what situation or obstacle might come your way.

Carolyn Osburn

Rev.12:10
Our enemy will place a bad thought in your mind and then immediately accuse you of wrongdoing: Look at you! And you call yourself a Christian. Even though it was not your thought to begin with he, will try his best to make you believe it was yours, and then make you feel guilty over it. This is a crowd control tactic. If he can make you walk around all day with your head hanging down, feeling unworthy to even pray because of your bad thoughts, then he has successfully neutralized you.Tomorrow he will try it again.

Do not fall into entrapment. God is above all of this, He knows who is to blame, and his day is coming. Push these thoughts aside, hold your head up, stand up straight and walk as a child of God today.

Carolyn Osburn

Zechariah 4:10
Can you recall the day God's Spirit rested on you? Have you walked in that anointing since that day? Satan's strategy is to keep us distracted with the urgency of the moment versus the importance of eternity. Ask God what your priorities should be today. Make His priorities your priorities.

Carolyn Osburn

Revelation 2:17
The Bible places a lot of emphasis on overcoming in our lives. We know we can't overcome alone - it is the power of the cross and the Holy Spirit's work in our lives that helps us to overcome. Also, the support of friends and family is very important in helping us get past the obstacles in front of us. But resiliency in the kingdom has special merit to it - not everyone who decides to believe Jesus is the son of God is an overcomer. There is something that separates the doubter from the overcomer, the one who has the resiliency factor. It takes an unwavering perspective that anything, yes, anything, is possible to those who believe, coupled with a strong faith in God. Strong faith says, "There is nothing bigger than my God. My God is bigger than all the giants in my life," in spite of how big our giants may seem.

Have you activated the resiliency factor in your life? I pray that each of us may gain a resiliency in God that helps us overcome any negative thing that comes our way, so that we might in turn become overcomers in the kingdom of God.

Carolyn Osburn

Rev.2:17
The resiliency factor, or being an overcomer, has to do with being flexible and bendable, but not breakable. This is because we have learned, through the power of Jesus, that we CAN overcome, and not break when circumstances test us. The tree with no roots falls right over. But the grounded tree with roots that sink deep into the ground merely bends when the storms of life come its way. This tree has gone deep into the ground to find water & nourishment. This tree is resilient.Be strong in the Word and through the Power of God in your life!

Carolyn Osburn

Romans 6:11
Whenever our peace is upset over events and circumstances in life, we have moved past emotions into sin. Sin says that circumstances of life now dictate anxiety, worry, fear, or anger. Consider the attributes of a dead man. He does not get angry when slandered. He does not worry about the future. He does not fear what can be done to him. Why? Because he is dead. Nothing can harm a dead man.

Christ said we are to live as if we are dead - dead to the temptation of responding to stimuli in our life that are designed to stir up the sinful nature that resides in each of us. We do not have to respond to that nature; we can consider it dead. Christ said He is enough. When He is our all in all, nothing can move us. If we are moved, then Christ is not our all in all. This does not mean we cannot have strong emotion about our circumstance, it means we do not sin. Christ had strong emotions in the Garden of Gethsemane, yet He sinned not.

Carolyn Osburn

Gen.25:34
Esau had not understood the value of his birthright or his future in God. He could only see the immediate pleasures available to him. His appetites were driven by his flesh. And his choices led to a life that even God said He despised in Esau. Everyday there are Esaus living out their calling in the same way. They see the fruits that their professional life can give them. They make choices based on what seems right at the moment for immediate gratification. The Bible says there is a way that seems right but only leads to death.

God has a future and a plan for every person. But not every person will choose to follow this plan. Pray for those you encounter today that are still living as Esaus and ask God to move on their behalf in order that they fulfill their Godly heritage.

Carolyn Osburn

Psalm 119:58
SERVING WITH THE RIGHT HEART

We should be like a cold drink of water in a desert, a feast in the midst of famine, and salt in the midst of decay. We should change the atmosphere when we enter a room allowing the light and love of Christ to enter in with His joy, peace, and righteousness.

How are you living out your calling or current ministry? Could you say it's being lived out with heart? Ask the Lord to help you have a joy for what you do... even if the situation is less than perfect.

Carolyn Osburn

When we commit ourselves to fully follow Christ, He begins a "circumcision" process in each of us designed to rid all that is of the world system from our lives. This circumcision is required of every believer. Moses had much preparation from God for His calling to free the people of Israel from Egypt. He spent years in training as a young boy in the family of Pharaoh. He tried to free the people through the flesh by killing an Egyptian. That cost him 40 years in the desert of loneliness and toil before God said he was prepared to free the people from their suffering. God invested much in Moses; however, that preparation was not enough. Experience and preparation had to be mixed with obedience. God required his family to be circumcised. Moses failed to circumcise his son before returning to Egypt. This was so important to God that He was going to kill Moses if he did not uphold his commandment. "At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses and was about to kill him" (Ex. 4:24).

Are there any areas in your life that have not come under the lordship of Christ? Is there any lack of obedience that will prevent you from being used fully by the Lord? Ask Him to show you this today so that you might be fully used of God.

Carolyn Osburn

I Kings 19:11-13
We often think God is in our grand projects only to discover that He is not. We may also assume because of the success or visibility of a situation that God is in it. He may, in fact, be in the project. However, God's ways are not always highly visible. Sometimes He chooses to come in the soft, gentle whisper. It is sometimes difficult to recognize it as the Lord because He shows Himself in such subtle ways.

We need to be able to discern when God is actually part of our situation. Only then can we avoid being deceived in thinking God is not behind our projects. Ask God for wisdom in knowing when He is involved in it.

I Samuel 16:13
David knew the day the Spirit of the Lord began a special work in him. That Spirit was different from most leaders. Instead of seeking power and control, he led in response to a need. Instead of being a perfect person, he learned from mistakes and acknowledged them among those he led. Instead of placing confidence in his own abilities, he sought wisdom from the only real Commander in charge. David never lost a battle through his many years of leading Israel. He failed God by sinning with Bathsheba and by numbering the troops, but he learned from those failures, and he had to pay a price for them. However, God's Spirit never left David. He never left because of David's willingness to keep a soft heart toward God, even when he failed.

God wants to do the same in you and me, but He will not allow that Spirit to rest on us if we seek to control outcomes and manipulate out of our need for power. Servant leaders know that they are only a tool in the Master's hand. They do not value themselves more than they ought. David's heart was fully the Lord's. Is your heart fully the Lord's to do with what He wills?
Math4:5-7
We need balance in our lives in every area.In your life, the enemy will always try to make you think too much of yourself, or too little. To work too hard, or not at all.To give nothing, or everything. The truth is in the middle, not in one extreme or the other. It is like walking a tightrope with constant corrections.
Psalm 55:22. Cast Your Care
It seems that with the constant stressors and events of life, it has become normal to be weighed down with the things of life. Whether stressors are present because of money struggles, job pressures, family challenges, political issues, or current events, all of these things can take a toll on our souls. But, we can find rest in Jesus, as we "cast all our cares" on Him.

Jesus knew that we would often put burdens on ourselves that were too big to carry. After all, we are only human! He told His disciples, "For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:29-30 Twice in the Bible is the phrase, "cast your cares on him" mentioned, in Psalms and in 1 Peter. God didn't want the weight of the world on our shoulders; He wanted only the weight of His glory flowing through us for all the world to see.
Mark1:22-23
It is not enough to simply teach; you must also impart to others," said my mentor one day. One of the spiritual gifts God has given the Body is the gift of teaching (Rom. 12:7). However, the Lord does not desire that teachers only impart knowledge to others. Knowledge alone will not empower others to be mature disciples of Christ.

The people recognized there was something different about Jesus. He was a teacher of the law as a Rabbi. However, whenever He taught there was an authority that went beyond the conveying of information. He was imparting Truth through the authority of His life. His words impacted others profoundly. The anointing and teaching from position of experience makes all the difference!
I Sam16:13God will not allow His Spirit to rest on us as leaders/ministers if we seek to control outcomes and manipulate out of our need for power.Servant leaders know that they are only a tool in the Master's hand. They do not value themselves more than they ought.David's heart was fully the Lord's.Is your heart fully the Lord's to do with what He wills?
Psalm 144:1
When there are giants, obstacles, or enemies in front of us, we need to treat the situation strategically. Doesn't an army come up with a battle plan? Likewise, we need to sit before God to find out what it is we should do to get past our obstacle, much like the Israelites did when they were about to enter the Promised Land. Is it time to wait, or is it time to move forward? Is it time to fast and pray, or is it time to take action? When we aren't certain some sort of movement is usually helpful.

But, the most important part of this strategic process is how to fight in the spiritual realm. Is there negativity we're listening to in our minds? Are we speaking negative words aloud? Are we living with discouragement? We need to deal with those things first before we can be effective in conquering our giants. Then and only then can God give us a battle plan. Our spiritual enemies need to be bound.
Psa144 : 1When there are obstacles/enemies in front of us,we need to treat the situation strategically. We need to sit before God to find out what it is we should do to get past our obstacle, much like the Israelites did when they were about to enter the Promised Land.Is it time to wait,or is it time to move forward? Is it time to fast and pray,or is it time to take action?Seek God's plan&prosper!
Walking, standing, and sitting is progressive. In 1 Cor. 15:33, Paul wrote that bad company corrupts good character. While it is certainly relevant outside the church, we found that it can be pretty bad inside as well. The fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:21–23).

The company that you keep will affect your view on life. They can bring out the best in you, or the worst. They can inspire you, or depress you. Many are happy where they are and will not want you to grow. Do not hang out with bad company. They will bring you down to their level.
Deuteronomy 8:17
The prodigal son's brother who refused to celebrate the wayward son's return was a man who felt he was entitled to certain rights. He saw himself as one who had been faithful to his responsibilities and deserving of more attention. He could not appreciate his brother's failure and the pain of falling into a sinful life because, in his mind, he had never failed. This pride kept him from experiencing God's real grace. This is how legalism develops in believers. It grows into a cold heart and an insensitive attitude toward others who may have stumbled in their lives. This same brother did not truly understand the love of his father apart from works; for he felt he gained acceptance only by doing his job.

Do you feel accepted by God, regardless of what you do? Have you wrongfully viewed your works as something you alone have achieved? These are the minefields of which each of us in business must be aware. God has gifted us to accomplish anything through His grace, not by our works.
Genesis 37:24
We cannot effectively get ourselves out of the pit in our own strength. But, we can speed up the process by forgiving those who have wronged us, realizing that we cannot avenge ourselves of any wrong done to us, and being faithful in the small things in order for God to promote us. When we have been faithful and our heart is pure before God, God is then able to elevate us to the next place.

Do you find yourself in a pit right now? Make sure you are seeking God in this place and keeping your heart pure before Him. If God can find us faithful in the small things, He will elevate us to greater things.
Luke 23:42-43 A SIMPLE PRAYER
Both men were guilty. Both men spoke to Jesus. One man was saved. After a life of crime and now while he was getting what he deserved, God had mercy on him because he took the time to ask. God could have laughed and said “You earned this, now enjoy!” Instead, while breathing out his last few breaths, he turned to Jesus and was saved.

God is merciful, and regardless of what you have done, it can be made right. Regardless of how long you have done it, it can be wiped away. A life of sin can be removed in a moment, even during your last breath. Though our sin is like scarlet, He will make it as white as snow (Isa1:18). Just pray a simple prayer like this and mean it: “Lord Jesus, forgive me, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Please guide me from this day forth.”

Come on my friend...TODAY is the day of salvation!!
Proverbs 28:19
King David was an entrepreneur. He grew up as a shepherd boy and later became Israel's greatest warrior. He responded to opportunities, like the time when no one would fight Goliath. He saw this as an opportunity. He ultimately became king of Israel and faced many opportunities placed before him. David learned an important lesson somewhere along the way that each of us as workplace believers should learn. As an entrepreneur the greatest danger is engaging ourselves in activities in which God never intended us to be involved. This is poor stewardship of what God has entrusted to us. When the Philistines attacked David, he always inquired of God as to if and when he was to counterattack. When he was attacked a second time on one occasion, David inquired of God as to whether he was to attack yet. This time God said yes, but with a condition, "Wait until you hear the sound of marching in the balsam trees" (see 2 Sam.5:24). This story tells us that David had learned an important lesson about staying vertical in his relationship with God at all times. David had learned the important principle of staying focused on what God wanted for him, not what seemed logical. He was an opportunist, but only through the filter of the Holy Spirit in his life.
Judges 3:4 PASS THE TEST
The apostle Peter thought his faith in Christ was solid until the temptation came to deny Him. Jesus knew Peter was not mature yet and that he would deny Jesus three times in one day. Peter didn't believe it. Sure enough, Peter denied Jesus three times. Peter could not believe he could do such a terrible thing. In order to discover this about himself, he needed to be placed in a situation to reveal his true condition.

God allows circumstances to develop around your life to give your faith opportunity to be proven. It is only when we are tested in battle that we become skilled warriors. You can be confident God will allow trials to come your way through situations like an unreasonable boss, a client who refuses to pay, a false assault on your character, or a difficult relationship that requires unconditional love. These battles are sent your way to test what you know in the mind in order that they might become part of your heart.
Martin Luther said there are three things necessary to create a successful minister of God: prayer, meditation, and temptation. You'll really never know the strength and reality of your faith until you experience difficulty in life. You'll never know for sure whether God can be trusted or if you'll fall to temptation.

The definition of Awesome: adjective

breathtaking, awe-inspiring, magnificent, wonderful, amazing, stunning, staggering, imposing, stirring, impressive; formidable, fearsome, dreaded; mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, excellent, marvelous; wondrous. Awesome is the opposite of unimpressive.

I love the word Awesome; it seems to be one of the few words that I know that can even come close to describing God and I try to reserve it just for that purpose. I mean can you use the same words to describe a movie actor that you would to describe the one that created the earth?

Today we serve the breathtaking, mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, Awesome God that created the universe. Act like it and do not fear what man can do to you.
Hebrews 11:7 PREPARE TO FIGHT
Soldiers train ahead of time so when the fight starts, they are ready. Athletes prepare before the competition. Do not wait until you are in the thick of battle to start getting ready for it. Noah built the ark before the flood came. When the storm begins, it is too late to start on the ark. Grab onto whatever you can and hang on; God will come through. When given the chance, prepare for the fight ahead of time and do not ignore those urges to go and pray.
John 11:17 WHEN GOD DELAYS

When we experience sickness and do not see a breakthrough, we can only seek Jesus for our healing and leave the outcome to Him. We must trust that He knows the answer to our need and the timing for its solution. There are times when we experience supernatural healing and other times that we simply do not know why Jesus chooses not to heal. In either case, our devotion to Jesus must not change.

God-delays are always pre-ordained for a greater purpose. If you find yourself in this place, bring your concerns to Jesus and leave them there. A day will come when Jesus will reveal His purposes in your situation. The psalmist said, "My times are in your hand" (Ps 31:14b). Jesus may have been four days late, but as is often the case, He was still right on time. Are you able to trust His timing?

Psalm 30:5 JOY COMETH
Looking back over my life, there were moments where things looked really bad, but when the next day came, things were better. All the worry was for nothing. If the situation had not changed, worry still had not helped.

Whatever you are facing today, know that God will not allow more than you can bear, but you can often bear more than you think. You will come out of this as a better person. Though weeping may tarry for the night, joy is coming right behind it.
Kings 17:4 PROVISION
God often uses money to confirm direction for our lives. Many times God uses a lack of provision to move us into new directions. It is a catalyst to encourage new ideas and strategies. Many times a loss of job becomes the greatest blessing to our lives because it provides the catalyst to do things we simply would never do without taking the step to get out of our comfort zone.

Friend, if you are fully following the Lord in your life and seeking direction from Him and you have no un-confessed sin in your life, there is no way He will allow you to miss His provision for you. He has a thousand ways to get the provision you need at the time you need it. Provision follows obedience.
